What’s Working?

During my journey to 100% health, I am bombarded with natural “fixes”, “cures” and “improvements”.  Visit sites like Dr. OzDr. Mercola, and Dr. Weil and you’ll quickly see what I mean.  Included below are a list of natural remedies I’ve used specifically for my autoimmune disease Ankylosing Spondylitis.  Many things that work for me below will most likely work for a person suffering from an autoimmune disease and may help the majority of people suffering.

Gas / Bloating

  • Fennel Seeds – relieves gas & bloating + gives you good breath.
    Does it work?  Yes.  MORE RESEARCH 
  • Fiber Supplement (Psyllium Husks) – a well-known remedy for bowel irregularity.  It basically binds the loose stools.
    Does it work?  Yes, but get the right kind and only if you usually have diarrhea.  I use Organic India. | MORE RESEARCH

Inflammation / Pain

  • Tart Cherry Juice – antioxidant, reduces inflammation, fights heart disease, and is a good sleeping aid.  Drink during dinner / after dinner.
    Does it work?  I did not see any effects in inflammation and I had a sugar drop taking some one morning (I am hypoglycemic).  However, if you’re looking for a concentrated juice for antioxidants, tart cherry juice may work for you. | MORE RESEARCH (Video)
  • Arnica Massage Oil – While some good sources have sworn this helps them out, I never felt the effect.  Maybe the pain of an auto-immune patient is different than a typical physical sore?
